T-shore Training Programme Launches in Eemshaven with Focus on Offshore Logistics

The first session of the T-shore Introduction to Offshore (Wind) Energy Course took place on 15 May at the Buss Terminal in Eemshaven, officially launching the four-part series aimed at introducing new audiences to careers in offshore wind.

With 30 participants in attendance—including students, jobseekers, and career changers—the session focused on the logistical challenges involved in building offshore wind farms.

Highlights from the Session:

  • Richard de Ouden (Noorderpoort) gave an overview of the logistical needs in the sector and the importance of qualified, well-trained professionals.

  • Johan Pas (HR Manager, Buss Terminal) shared insights on transporting and storing key components (both underwater and above water), and the crucial role of certification and safety in the sector.

  • Participants had the opportunity to tour the facility and gain a first-hand look at real-world offshore wind operations.

This introductory session provided a clear and practical understanding of the skills required to support offshore energy development, and highlighted Eemshaven’s role as a regional hub for offshore employment and innovation.
