Last week, partners from across Europe gathered in Stavanger for a week of activity focused on developing the offshore wind workforce — from T-shore’s partner meeting and stakeholder workshop to participation in the OTD Energy Fair.
T-shore Stakeholder Workshop
Over 60 participants joined the T-shore Stakeholder Workshop at the Stavanger Chamber of Commerce, where education, industry, and employment stakeholders came together to discuss vocational training, recruitment, and the growing demand for skilled workers in offshore wind.
The workshop included presentations from VindKOMP, Siemens Gamesa, and the Norwegian Centre of Vocational Excellence (CoVE), who shared insight and data on the future workforce needs of Norway’s offshore wind sector.
Roundtable discussions and a closing panel encouraged open dialogue, highlighting how collaboration between education and industry can address skills gaps and create new opportunities for workers.
T-shore Partner Meeting
Earlier in the week, T-shore partners from Belgium, Denmark, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Norway met to review progress across work packages, share updates on the harmonised education modules, and plan the final project stages leading into 2026.
OTD Energy Fair
The week concluded with T-shore partners attending the OTD Energy Fair, where the Norwegian CoVE exhibited and took part in the Offshore Wind Conference.
Moderated by Frank Emil Moen, the conference featured a wide range of speakers and closed with a presentation from Dáire Horgan, who shared a European perspective on the skills required to meet EU decarbonisation goals — and how the T-shore CoVE network is already delivering tangible results through shared training, education, and collaboration.
Special thanks to Energy Innovation – Norway for their contribution and coordination throughout the week.
Together, these sessions highlighted the importance of skilled people, shared learning, and cooperation between education and industry — essential foundations for achieving Europe’s offshore wind ambitions.
