Last week, the T-shore Norwegian Centre of Vocational Excellence, led by Energy Innovation, marked the graduation of six Ukrainian refugees from a specialised training programme aimed at creating accessible career pathways into Norway’s offshore wind and energy sector.
Developed in close collaboration with NAV Rogaland and the Norwegian Refugee Service, the course provided a comprehensive mix of:
-
GWO certifications (Basic Safety & Technical Training)
-
Hydraulic and mechanical fundamentals
-
HSE modules and practical, hands-on training
The programme was tailored to the participants’ backgrounds and the needs of local employers—resulting in 100% job placement for the group.
This initiative is an excellent example of how vocational excellence can:
-
Provide support and inclusion for displaced individuals
-
Deliver practical reskilling and upskilling to meet industry needs
-
Bring valuable human capital into the offshore wind sector
We would like to recognise the employers and partners who contributed to the programme’s success:
Rexor Marine AS, Dalane Anleggservice, Pelagia, NAV Rogaland, Norwegian Refugee Service, Eigersund kommune, and Bjerkreim kommune.
By investing in people, T-shore partners continue to show how collaboration and tailored education can deliver social impact while addressing workforce gaps in the energy transition.
