Exploring the Port of Vlissingen: A T-shore CoVE Netherlands South Excursion
T-shore CoVE Netherlands South recently hosted an engaging excursion through the Port of Vlissingen, giving students, trainers and partners a close look at one of Zeeland’s busiest and most diverse energy hubs.
With projects ranging from offshore wind farms and hydrogen plants to nuclear energy and LNG terminals, Vlissingen shows how multiple energy sources can co-exist in a modern port setting. A highlight for many was seeing a jack-up installation vessel up close — a dramatic example of the scale and engineering involved in offshore wind construction.
Highlights:
-
25 students, 10 local educators, and 16 T-shore partners took part
-
Real-life insights into port operations and offshore logistics
-
Direct connection between classroom learning and the working world
A big thank you to Scalda for coordinating this practical learning opportunity. Trips like these are a key part of T-shore’s mission to link education and industry, and to inspire the next generation of offshore wind professionals.
